Information we collect

• Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, profile image, and a Google account identifier needed to create and maintain your Halypa account. We do not receive your Google password or access to your Gmail or Google Drive content.
• Learning information: We store the subjects and goals you choose, sources you provide, conversations and answers, quiz and assessment results, reflections, progress, and capstone work so the app can teach you and remember your progress.
• Technical information: Authentication cookies keep you signed in. A locale cookie remembers your language choice, and your browser may store a theme preference. Our hosting and analytics services may process information about site visits, such as pages viewed and basic device or browser information.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate your account, provide and personalize lessons, generate AI responses and assessments, save progress, manage access and usage limits, maintain and secure the service, and understand how the site is used. We may use account details to send essential service communications or notify the app operator about new accounts.

Services that process information

We use Google for sign-in, Supabase for authentication and data storage, and Vercel for hosting and site analytics. To provide tutoring and assessment features, relevant learning content may be sent to the AI provider configured for a feature, which may be Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google. Some text may also be sent to Voyage AI to create embeddings used for retrieval. Resend may process account details for service notifications. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and learning information while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. If your account is active, you can delete it from Account settings. This removes your account and associated learning records from our application database. Limited anonymized usage or billing records may remain, and service providers may retain information according to their own policies or legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

If your account is active, you can update your display name and delete your account in Account settings. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information through the contact details below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.

Security and international processing

We use access controls and other reasonable measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
